The Client: 

Our Client, which develops a portfolio of boutique hotels in key European cities, seeks an Associate to join the Financial Control department in Nicosia. 

 

The Position: 

The Associate will be responsible for various tasks related to managing and maintaining the financial records of the Company, including administrative duties, accounting, and financial reporting. The various work streams entail the corporate entities in Cyprus but also the subsidiary companies located in Athens, Brussels, Milan, London and Porto.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1) Administration:

  • Be responsible for the prearation of payments and the verification of supporting documentation,
    ensuring proper approvals for all companies of the Group
  • Ensure the proper filing and documentation of financial documents
  • Liaise with lawyers, bankers, and other external parties for matters pertaining to opening bank accounts,certificates’ preparation, etc.

2) Accounting for the corporate entities in Cyprus:

  • Entry of accounting transactions
  • Issuance of income invoices and other documentation
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, accounts payable and receivable
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Payment of taxes and contributions to the Tax Authorities

3) Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the participation of monthly and annual financial reports such as cash reports, and management
    accounts
  • Assist in coordinating and preparing for external audits and regulatory examinations
  • Support other ad-hoc reporting requirements

 

Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience: 

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field
  • Experience in a similar position or in an accounting role would be a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel/Word, in particular)
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional fluency in English, both written and oral
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of IFRS would be a plus
  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP would be a plus

 

Location:  The position is for the Company’s headquarters in Nicosia, Cyprus
