Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF)

The Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF) is a registered Voluntary, Non profit, Charitable Organization (Reg. No. 525), founded in 1986 by 21 people with personal experience of cancer and other devoted friends.

Since its establishment, PASYKAF has carried out a complex and multifaceted humanitarian mission, placing the person with cancer and their family at the centre of all its actions. Throughout the illness, PASYKAF offers care, support, and encouragement — a compassionate embrace that helps people navigate their journey with dignity and hope.

Over the years, PASYKAF has grown into one of Cyprus’s most significant charitable organizations, with thousands of members and supporters. Through its scientifically trained, multidisciplinary team, it provides professional healthcare and specialized services that address the physical, psychological, and social needs of people living with cancer.

Today, PASYKAF operates from five offices across Cyprus, offering all its programs and services completely free of charge.

For 40 years, PASYKAF has been providing island-wide, professional Healthcare Services to people with cancer and their families, including:

• Palliative and Supportive Home Care available 24/7
• Medical monitoring by doctors specializing in palliative care
• Loan of medical equipment for home use
• Physiotherapy services
• Prevention and treatment of lymphoedema
• Psychological support for individuals and groups
• Social welfare assistance
• Bereavement support
• Patient transportation from all districts to the Oncology Centres in Nicosia and Limassol
• Nutritional support services
• Two Palliative Care Centres: PASYKAF – EDEM in Larnaca District (15 beds) APASYKAF – Archangel Michael in Paphos District (12 beds)

PASYKAF’s mission goes beyond care — it strives to be a model organization for people with cancer, focusing on prevention, research, education, health policy advocacy, and the protection of patients’ rights, while continually improving and expanding its professional healthcare services.

In 2024, PASYKAF responded to the needs of 8,599 patients and their families through 38,826 support sessions delivered across Cyprus.
