About Us

Malta Marine Repairs was established in 1969 to set up an in-water facility for yachts around Malta. Eventually, Melita Marine Group acquired the company in 1998 and it became known as we know it today – Melita Power Diesel. Following this acquisition, Melita Marine Group also founded Melita Yacht Painters Ltd in 1999. Representing AWLGRIP, they first started out with a team of just eight full-time painters and eventually continued to expand. The group’s success speaks for itself, and over the years, they focused on continually growing and offering their collective services on both a local and international scale.

Melita Power Diesel markets, sells, and services complete power solutions for marine and industrial propulsion and power plants. We also represent and are the official distributors for Rolls Royce Power Systems, MTU and Detroit Diesel Engines both in Malta and in Greece. Over the years the firm was also honoured with prestigious awards such as the MTU Rolls Royce Power System Service Partner of the Year Award 2016/17, for the quality and efficiency of service.

Besides the selling of engines and spare parts, Melita Power Diesel offers engine repair services, overhauls, and reconditions all types of MTU and Detroit Diesel Engines. Additionally, we also offer inspection and testing techniques with some of the most cutting-edge tools and equipment.

Melita Shipyard is comprised of the entire supporting departments within the group, as well as Melita Power Diesel Ltd and Melita Yacht Painters Ltd. The combined in-house services we offer, together with our specialised team of professional project managers, will take care of every aspect of yacht repair, maintenance, or the refitting of yachts up to 100m.

Melita Shipyard has the facility to offer annual out of water yacht maintenance, to large interventions on yachts. That might include work on the main engines, generator replacement, painting works, teak deck replacement and interior refurbishment backed up by an in-house drawing office. Throughout the years we have executed reconstruction works or conversions from yachts into luxury superyachts of some of the most prestigious yachts-built dating back as far as the steam era.

Harbour Management Ltd manages the Gozo Marina in Mgarr, Gozo. It offers berthing spaces for vessels up to 45m LOA and draft of 6m. It also offers berthing spaces for jet skis. Through pre notification Mechanic and Engineering, Diver and Bunkering services can be arranged for yachts berthed at the Marina. Shore supply for electricity and fresh water is also available for berthed vessels.

The agency department was set up to cater and serve Captains and vessel owners. We take care of all shore support services which includes berthing arrangements, Custom Clearance, Bunkering, Chandlery etc.

We also offer the sale of chandlery supplies as well as automotive batteries.
