An opportunity has arisen for a Java Software Engineer to join our Prime Architect team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a software project life cycle including requirements gathering & analysis, design, coding, unit testing, implementation, and maintenance of the code. They will collaborate with systems analysts and business partners to develop specifications for system enhancements required for the functional improvement of the organization infrastructure platforms such as Jira.
The Java Software Engineer will assist in defining complex technical requirements for on-going infrastructure platforms maintenance interfacing with technical and/or functional teams to ensure the proper integration of business processes. They will also be responsible for root cause analysis and providing solutions for production and development issues related to infrastructure platforms.

Our Java Software Engineer will have the opportunity to:

Design, deliver, and be the custodian of large-scale solutions, while implementing your creations with international engineering colleagues.

Lead workstreams that design major value-adding projects for the company which embrace major players of the banking industry on a global scale.

Drive cutting-edge technology by exploring concepts on Java development using the Spring Boot Framework and Oracle database on AWS Amazon cloud and more.

Key responsibilities include:

● Designing and developing code independently and with cooperation with the Team Leader using various tools and owning responsibility for quality assurance of their development.
● Reviews deliverables for content, accuracy, and potential system impacts for assigned tasks. Reviews deliverables for alignment with objectives and provides feedback and recommendations.
● Experience in end-to-end project implementation delivery and awareness of SDLC.
● Problem solving and client support.
● Communicating and enforcing coding standards.
● Interacts with a diverse range of team, including project managers, senior management, and clients for successful implementation of given solutions.

Java development skills and experience:

● Educated to degree level in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field.
● Knowledge of web services implementation concepts using the Java Spring Boot Framework.
● Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (React.js).
● Ability to write well designed, testable, efficient code following coding standards.
● Good knowledge and experience in versioning control systems (Git).
● Strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming language concepts (Java).
● Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English language, both verbally and in writing.

Experience in the following areas would be an advantage:

● Experience in REST API’s, React, Swagger and Open API Standards.
● Knowledge of AWS Cloud Services.
● Experience with Kafka.
● Familiarity with database design fundamentals (Oracle).
