The Client:

Our client Allwyn, a leading gaming company in Greece and Cyprus and one of the most renowned in its industry worldwide is expanding its operations in Cyprus and is looking to recruit a Head of Accounting, Finance and Operations.

Position Mission: 

To ensure accurate, compliant accounting and reporting for the Group’s Cyprus companies, in line with IFRS, statutory/NBA rules, and parent‑company requirements. The role guides all Cypriot accountants, ensures consistent application of policies, and delivers accounting reports that support effective monitoring and control of Allwyn’s Cyprus operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Operations & Oversight

  • Oversee the execution of all accounting activities for the Cyprus companies, ensuring all financial transactions and fixed assets are accurately recorded in the ERP and general ledger according to IFRS and local standards.
  • Review and ensure accurate monthly GGR, expense calculations, and timely update of accounting information.
  • Control monthly and annual closing processes and ensure accurate preparation of financial statements in line with regulatory and Group requirements.
  • Monitor reconciliation of all financial transactions (receivables, payables, client accounts) to ensure timely, accurate updates to the general ledger.
  • Review and validate accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation.

2. Guidance, Support & Policy Consistency

  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance, explanations, and technical accounting support to Cypriot accountants across the Group.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting standards, policies, and procedures across Cyprus entities.
  • Support training and development of accounting team members.

3. Reporting & Analysis

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of standardized and ad‑hoc accounting reports, year‑end statements, and regulatory submissions.
  • Prepare clear presentations of actual financial results for management.
  • Support the CFO with budgeting activities and monitor budget vs. actual performance.
  • Prepare calculations related to agents’ commissions, payroll, and other operational expenses.

4. Processes, Controls & Compliance

  • Propose and implement accounting processes, procedures, and standards to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Monitor changes in tax/accounting legislation, assess impacts, and communicate adjustments to relevant parties.
  • Ensure all invoices and payments comply with contracts, internal policies, and approval frameworks.
  • Strengthen internal controls and contribute to SOX and audit compliance.

5. Systems, Testing & Platform Support

  • Provide accounting and tax specifications for gaming platforms and financial systems.
  • Review UAT test cases, validate system outputs, and provide sign‑off for production releases.
  • Ensure accurate integration of financial data across ERP and gaming platforms.

6. Audit Coordination

  • Cooperate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Address audit findings and recommend improvements to enhance financial management practices.

7. Operational Finance & Payments

  • Support payroll processing and submit payroll information for CFO approval.
  • Assist with vendor and operational payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

8. Leadership & Ad‑Hoc Responsibilities

  • Manage and support team members, fostering skill development and achievement of goals.
  • Respond to ad‑hoc assignments related to accounting, reporting, and operational finance.

Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:

  • BSc degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related Finance field
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA) strongly preferred.
  • Audit experience gained in a Big 4 audit firm will be considered a plus.
  • 7+ years of relevant accounting/financial reporting experience, ideally in a regulated or listed environment.
  • Very good numerical skills, analytical and strategic thinking

Location:

The position is for the Client’s offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Remuneration:

Annual Gross Salary based on qualifications and experience: €65K-€75K plus other benefits
