General Manager – A high-growth innovative financial services and technology firm – Nicosia, Cyprus

The Client: 

Our client, a high-growth innovative financial services and technology firm, with deep expertise in trading, financial market infrastructure and digital assets, is looking to recruit a General Manager for its new investment firm to be based in Cyprus

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement the local strategy, in particular in terms of operations
• Supervise and manage operational functions of the company, in particular operations, legal, IT, human resources, facilities and administration
• Monitor the proper execution of the procedures set in the Internal Operations Manual (IOM) and in the group policies and procedures
• Coordinate operational activities in close collaboration with the headquarters, report on a regular basis to the group about operational matters
• Ensure that the company maintains and implements an adequate internal control framework, monitor and manage the risk profile of the company
• Ensure that the company complies with its legal obligations, in particular to CySEC
• Replace the Managing Director, during his/her absence, in all his/her duties and responsibilities.

 

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor or master’s in finance or economy
• Past experience as COO preferred
• >10 years working experience in the financial services industry
• Previous experience as Managing Director or General Manager for an investment firm regulated and supervised by CySEC – previously accredited by the CySEC for a similar role
• Experience in setting up from scratch similar business
• Ability to work with small teams
• Cyprus resident
• Very good knowledge of the European and Cyprus regulatory frameworks (in particular MiFID and MICA)
• Interest and knowledge of digital assets and blockchain technologies
• Strong analytical skills, precise, organized, autonomous, open-minded, self-starter, fast-learner, hands-on and result-oriented
• Fluent in Greek and English, French a plus

 

Location: 

The position is for the Client’s offices in Nicosia.
