Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Training Manager, F&B is responsible for the implementation of the department’s Training Manual in accordance to the Overall Training Plan Schedule of the Training Department, as well as for the evaluation and identification of training needs based on standards, performances, and audits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates department training manuals including Standard Operating Procedures
  • Conducts and facilitates department trainings
  • In coordination with the department managers, creates Task Checklist of each position
  • Develops a working training schedule for newly hires and regular refresher training for permanent staff
  • Establishes on-going training procedures and standards for newly hires and corrective training
  • Monitors and follows up performance of newly hired and conducts one-on-one dialogue and review
  • Reviews and updates on a regular basis, procedures on service standards to maintain high level of service in accordance to outlet concept
  • Conducts regular training on Health and Safety topics and maintains updated records
  • Carries out audits and keeps records of all outlet audit results
  • Recommends incentives or rewards for improved rating
  • Spot checks the working condition of staff on a regular basis for safety and security recommending corrective actions
  • Recommends any improvement needed to keep the department updated i.e. Training, Products/Equipment, Health and Safety matters
  • Maintains and checks agreed grooming standards of FOH staff
  • Assists in the building of an efficient team of colleagues by taking active interest in their welfare, safety and development
  • Recommends and/or executes management policies to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, discharge, re-assign, or discipline employees
  • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures
  • Ensures the evaluation and appraisals of all its subordinates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of F&B Service experience in a large-scale Hotel with at least 3 years in a trainer role
  • Pre-opening experience of a large Hotel will be considered as an advantage

Education

  •  Degree in Hospitality Management or relevant

Skills

  • Excellent Command of Greek and English language both written and verbal
  • Advanced Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to plan short- and long-term goals as well as action plans
  • Exceptional leadership and influencing skills
