Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Lifeguard ensures the safety of all the guests and patrons in the Facilities, assisting with the smooth operation of the Department in accordance with Company service standards and Standard Operating Procedures also, when required, to do checking and cleaning of the areas and facilities.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures safety of all guests and patrons in the facilities by observing all guests activities and patrolling in the areas as assigned and ensure the smooth operation and guest safety. Safety is always the priority
  • Participates in regular Lifeguard Trainings and Drills arranged by the department so to upkeep their lifesaving skills and CPR skills
  • Assists in all guests’ activities in the Facilities
  • Ensures that guests of the Facilities follow the rules and safety regulations stipulated by the Company and laws
  • Maintains knowledge of facilities including facilities/equipment cleaning, checking and maintenance
  • Adheres to all security and maintenance procedures and practices including reporting any unusual or suspicious incidents, hazards or people, complaints and missing or damaged items in a timely and accurate manner
  • Follows the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) created by management in order to maintain a consistency in service standards and practices
  • Effectively attends to customers’ concerns by establishing each customer’s needs and trying to meet their requests within constraints provided by the Company
  • Reports to Supervisor, Pool & Fitness for the coordination of the facility and equipment maintenance
  •  At all times acts and behaves properly as the ambassador of the Company
  • Adheres and follows all Company policies and procedures.
  • Reports guest complaint, accidents, injuries, workplace hazards and / or security issues to Supervisor
  • Observes and promptly executes all emergency procedures when it arises
  • Communicates with fellow team members and departments to proactively provide guest service
  • Provide support and assistance to the Company, fellow team members and management as assigned by Aquatic Supervisor
  • Ensures that confidentiality and/or discretion is always maintained regarding guest’s information and activities
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as assigned by superiors from time to time

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Experience

  • Experience in aquatics facilities including beach, hotel/commercial pools, and waterpark
  • Previous 5-star hotel service or relevant experience is an advantage

Education

  • Must possess valid CPR and lifeguard license certified by local safety authorities

Skills / Competencies

  • Good swimming skills and lifesaving skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor recreation facilities is a must
  • Patience, cheerful and positive mindset
  • Ability to work on flexible shift including overnight, weekends and holidays on rotation basis
  • Good presentation and grooming
  • Demonstrates advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has strong sense of teamwork, work ethic and committed to the team
  • Understands different cultures and diversity

  • Good people management skills
  • Excellent command of English and Greek
