Job Description

We are a big multi-national trading company. Our continuously growing team is looking for a passionate individual to join the company as a Junior Project Manager

Key objectives:

The new Junior Project Manager will be in charge of a number of our business operations. This will include trading activities as well as the dedicated technical projects. Currently we are in the process of establishing an Advanced Passenger Information system (“API”) in Iraq. Our group works together with a leading international provider of such solutions. The successful candidate will be the link between the provider and the local representatives for the development of the project. Other projects will be related to our consumer goods trading business.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

On the trading side:

  • Strategically plan and manage trading deals including logistics and transportation
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers and shipping agents
  • Keep track of quality standards, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Meet cost and timeliness targets
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements

On the technical project side:

  • Be in contact with our technical project provider
  • Put together documentation and presentations needed for the project
  • Coordinate with the technical team in Iraq
  • Control and monitor progress of the project
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or in Business / Marketing
  • 2+ years’ field experience in trading / project management
  • Team leading skills
  • Able to manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to travel at short notice

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong ownership skills – self-starter and finisher, drives projects and tasks to conclusion.
  • Strong organizational skills – able to Multi task, planning and managing various projects and activities.

Salary: up to 1,500 EUR gross based on experience, plus Commission
